Advertisements on This Website

Once upon a time I had the following statement on this page:

Google AdSense Trial is Over: abandoning it!

From Nov 2007 to Jan 2008, I tried an experiment with Google AdSense. During this time there was a box on the right side of the page with some car related clickable text ads. the more people that click on those ads, the more ad revenue is generated to prop up AutoHobbyDigest. Based on the number of readers these pages have, it seemed like it might work, but as a testament to the intelligence and focus of our readers, not many click throughs happened! I guess the short attention span folks are reading and clicking through on other pages. So, in short, I'm abandoning that idea as a way to support the web site. To be honest, that's just as well, because I was never really happy with it anyhow.

This is still true

At this website, if a vendor's part or service is recommended or reviewed it is done so with no product placement or promotional gifts by the vendor. no blanket endorsements, you aren't being mislead. I'm not claiming to the last bastion of truth, I just want to point out that our efforts are truly honest and sincere, and the interest of helping fellow hobbyists and car nuts in mind, not parts vendors.

What it Takes

Underneath this website of more than 500+ images and 200+ pages, is 250+ megabytes of storage on a fast bandwidth ISP server. Autohobbydigest.com has dedicated resources at a central network location which means the site is highly available with near unlimited bandwidth. This costs money, a lot of it. This site first appeared under this name in 1999, and some of the articles have been together at a central website site 1995 when I first put up the Virtual Junkyard. I don't want to think about how much I've spent to this date, and to be honest, thats in the past. However, costs are rising and I cannot fund the site like I once did. So, I am asking for donations.
