Mopar Documentation: 1966 Fender Tags

Example fender tag comes from a Satellite two door hardtop (body code RP23). Basic and simple car except the "1" under the "u" indicates a "sold car/expedite" code, most likely for the two tone paint "ED2". Read more about the car at the Fender Tag Examples page.

All 1966 Tags

The codes on the bottom line under SO NUMBER BDT TRM PAINT represent the the Scheduled Production Date, the Shipping Order Number, trim, body, and paint codes. See Fender Tag Standards for decode information for these codes.

Sales Codes (under the ABCDE.. and under the abcdefg..y. )

Sales codes for many options are located on the top line (under the lower case "abcde..y") and the middle line (under the upper case "ABCDE..Z). For 1966, engine and transmission codes are listed, but rear gear ratio and SureGrip are not listed. The lack of a code in a particular location means either no option for that category or the standard option for that category. For example, no radio code means radio delete.
